New Audience Indicators (AMPS) and Advertising Investment

On the 30th October 2019 Marktest Angola released the results of the 13th edition of the Angolan Market Research, which is an important guiding document  for those stakeholders interested in this market. This research document provides important indicators related to turnover in the advertising market; trends in consumption of goods and services; the media with the largest audience; and consumer brands of choice for the year under review.

At press conference some indicators from AMPS (audience analysis) and PubliMonitor (advertising investment) were presented where the TV, Radio, Press and ATM media (Multicaixa) were analyzed.

 As far as the audience level is concerned, in Luanda province, TV Zimbo has consolidated its leadership position achieved in the year of 2018. In the second raning range we have other channels such as Zap Novelas, Zap Viva and TPA1 (the three channel stations competing at very close audiences).

 In the Radio front, Radio Luanda is the leader of audiences, followed in a second place by Radio 5, Radio Mais and Radio Despertar.

With regard to the press, the audience decreased by 8% during the same period of 2018. The most widely read daily Newspaper is Jornal de Angola, and at weekly level, we highlight Folha 8, O País, Grandes Notícias, Economia & Finanças o Mercado and Novo Jornal.

As per the Advertising Investment Level (at list price), the first 3 quarters of the year, show a growth of 8.7% in the sector.
